One of my top 10 favourite professional development books Fierce Conversations by Susan Scott. The book presents 7 principles for managing work and personal conversations. I am indebted to my friend Jo Eady facilitator, educator and all round super woman for introducing me to this book.
Principle 1: Master the courage to interrogate reality
No plan survives its collision with reality, and reality has a habit of shifting, at work and at home. Markets and economies change, requiring shifts of strategy. People change and forget to tell each other – colleagues, customers, spouses and friends. We are all changing all the time. Not only do we neglect to share this with others, we are skilled at masking it even to ourselves.

- Ask your customers for feedback about your the relevance of your service
- Ask your spouse, child, sibling or friend if they think you've changed
- Find a photo of yourself from 10 years ago and a recent photo. How have you changed physically or emotionally or is your financial situation different - how has that effected you?
In short what has changed? How has it effected you and those you come in contact with? Is the result what you want? If not what are you going to do?
